These Terms of Service set out the rules for using the More Than Medics website, resources, newsletter, events, programmes and related services.

In these Terms, More Than Medics Community Interest Company is referred to as “More Than Medics”, “MTM”, “we”, “us” or “our”.
By using our website or services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use our website or services.
2. What MTM does
MTM is a national non-profit/CIC platform supporting medics to explore opportunities, careers and professional development beyond the traditional clinical pathway.
Our services may include:
- articles and written resources
- newsletters
- opportunity listings
- webinars and events
- podcasts
- educational programmes
- role and programme applications
- downloadable resources
- login-protected resources
- paid digital products or educational resources, where available
- sponsorship or partner content, where clearly identified
3. Informational purpose only
MTM content is provided for general informational, educational and career-development purposes.
Our content does not constitute:
- medical advice
- legal advice
- financial advice
- employment advice
- immigration advice
- regulatory advice
- personalised career advice
You should use your own judgement and seek appropriate professional advice where needed.
4. Third-party opportunities and listings
MTM may share opportunities, events, programmes, jobs, prizes, internships, scholarships, fellowships, resources or other listings created by third-party organisations.
Unless clearly stated otherwise:
- MTM does not create, run, fund or control these third-party opportunities
- inclusion in MTM does not guarantee quality, availability, eligibility or suitability
- deadlines, dates, costs, eligibility criteria and application requirements may change
- users are responsible for checking details directly with the official organiser before applying, booking or relying on the information
We aim to curate useful and relevant opportunities, but we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, accurate or up to date at all times.
5. Editorial discretion
MTM decides what to include in its newsletter, website, resources and opportunity listings at its own editorial discretion.
No person or organisation has an automatic right to be featured.
We may remove, reject, edit or decline to publish content or opportunities where we consider it appropriate.
6. Sponsored and partner content
MTM may work with sponsors, partners or collaborators.
Sponsored or partner content may include:
- newsletter shoutouts
- website mentions
- event collaborations
- programme collaborations
- resource partnerships
- social media posts
Sponsored content must still meet MTM’s editorial standards and audience-fit criteria.
Payment, sponsorship or partnership does not guarantee inclusion of unsuitable content.
Where required or appropriate, sponsored or partner content will be labelled.
7. Accounts and login areas
Some MTM resources may require an account or login.
If you create an account, you agree to:
- provide accurate information
- keep your login details secure
- not share access with others where access is personal
- tell us if you believe your account has been compromised
- use the account only for lawful and appropriate purposes
We may suspend or remove accounts where users misuse the website, breach these Terms, share restricted content improperly or create risk for MTM or other users.
8. Applications for roles, programmes or opportunities
MTM may invite applications for team roles, internships, educational programmes, scholarships, events or other opportunities.
By applying, you agree that:
- you will provide accurate information
- selection decisions are made at MTM’s discretion
- submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance
- MTM may close, pause, extend or amend recruitment or application processes where needed
- MTM may contact you about your application using the details you provide
Where a specific programme or role has additional terms, expectations or eligibility criteria, those additional terms will also apply.
9. Events, webinars and programmes
If you register for or attend an MTM event, webinar or programme, you agree to behave respectfully and professionally.
You must not:
- harass, threaten or abuse others
- disrupt sessions
- share inappropriate content
- record sessions without permission
- misuse chat functions or contact details
- represent MTM without permission
MTM may remove participants from events, webinars or programmes if behaviour is inappropriate or unsafe.
Some sessions may be recorded. Where practical, we will tell participants if a session is being recorded.
10. Paid products, courses or digital resources
MTM may offer paid products or services, such as eBooks, tickets, courses, downloadable resources, premium resources or paid access areas.
Payments will be processed through the payment provider shown at checkout. MTM does not store full payment card details.
Prices, access details and any specific refund terms will be shown at the point of purchase.
For digital downloads or immediate-access digital content, you may lose your right to cancel once access or download has started, where this is explained at checkout and you have expressly agreed to immediate access and acknowledged that your cancellation right will be lost.
Unless stated otherwise at checkout:
- digital downloads are for personal use only
- paid MTM resources must not be shared, uploaded publicly, copied, resold or redistributed
- access may be withdrawn if resources are misused
- refunds for digital products will not usually be offered after the product has been accessed or downloaded, except where required by law
- refunds for events, courses or programmes will be handled according to the refund terms stated at the point of purchase
MTM is not currently VAT registered. Prices shown are not inclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. If MTM becomes VAT registered in future, this will be reflected at checkout where applicable.
MTM may sell products to individual users and, where agreed, to organisations or institutions. Organisation or institutional purchases may be subject to separate written terms.
Changes, cancellations and delays
- MTM may need to change, postpone or cancel an event, course or programme where necessary, including because of speaker availability, technical issues, low registration numbers, illness or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
- Where we make a material change or cancel a paid event, course or programme, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users and explain any available options, which may include rescheduling, alternative access or a refund where appropriate.
- MTM is not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
11. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, all MTM content belongs to MTM or is licensed to MTM.
This includes:
- articles
- guides
- website copy
- graphics
- branding
- logos
- resources
- newsletter content
- programme materials
- webinar materials
- templates
- downloadable documents
You may use MTM content for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes.
You must not, without our permission:
- copy substantial parts of MTM content
- sell MTM content
- reproduce MTM resources as your own
- remove MTM branding
- upload MTM paid resources publicly
- use MTM content to build a competing product or database
- scrape, mine or systematically extract content from our website or newsletter
You may share links to MTM webpages, articles and public resources.
12. User-submitted content
If you submit content to MTM, such as an article, testimonial, application response, feedback, quote, image, video, podcast material or speaker bio, you confirm that you have the right to submit it.
You give MTM permission to use that content for the purpose for which it was submitted.
Where we want to use your identifiable image, voice, quote or testimonial for wider public promotion, we will seek appropriate permission where required.
You must not submit content that is:
- unlawful
- defamatory
- discriminatory
- abusive
- misleading
- plagiarised
- infringing someone else’s rights
- confidential without permission
13. Acceptable use
You must not use the MTM website or services to:
- break the law
- upload malware or harmful code
- attempt to access systems without permission
- scrape or harvest data without permission
- copy or republish MTM databases or resources at scale
- send spam
- impersonate another person or organisation
- interfere with website operation
- misuse contact details found through MTM
- harass MTM team members, users, speakers, partners or contributors
14. Third-party websites and services
MTM may link to external websites, forms, platforms, events, products or services.
We are not responsible for:
- third-party content
- third-party privacy practices
- third-party terms
- third-party accuracy
- third-party availability
- third-party decisions
- third-party fees or refunds
You should review the relevant third-party terms and privacy policies before using external services.
15. Accuracy and availability
We try to keep MTM content useful, accurate and up to date.
However, we do not guarantee that:
- all content is error-free
- all opportunities are still open
- all deadlines are correct
- the website will always be available
- resources will always remain available
- third-party links will always work
We may update, remove, suspend or change any part of our website or services at any time.
16. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MTM is not liable for:
- loss arising from reliance on general information on the website or newsletter
- changes to third-party deadlines, events or opportunities
- rejection from third-party opportunities
- website downtime
- loss of data caused by third-party platforms
- indirect or consequential loss
- loss of profits, business, goodwill or opportunity
For free services, MTM’s liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Where you have paid MTM for a product or service, MTM’s total liability to you for any claim arising from that paid product or service shall be limited to the amount you paid to MTM for that specific product or service.
MTM shall not be liable for indirect, consequential or unforeseeable losses, including loss of opportunity, loss of earnings, loss of profit, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or rejection from any third-party opportunity, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes MTM’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
17. Termination or suspension
We may suspend or terminate access to MTM services if:
- you breach these Terms
- you misuse MTM content
- you fail to pay for a paid service
- you behave inappropriately in an MTM event, programme or community space
- we are required to do so by law
- continued access creates risk to MTM or others
18. Privacy
We use personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.
You should read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use and protect personal data.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The latest version will be posted on our website with the updated date.
If changes are material, we may take reasonable steps to notify users.
Continued use of MTM services after updated Terms are published means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere in the UK.
